Dr. Freeman has been practicing oncology in the Portland area for 8 years, serving patients throughout Oregon and Washington. Her primary focus is on quality of life care. She takes great pride in educating her staff to provide excellent care to their patients. She and her husband, Brian, moved to Oregon to pursue their shared interests in the great outdoors. They spend much of their free time hiking in the mountains, surfing at the coast, or playing Frisbee with their furry family members, Matti and Ho-D (dogs). The homestead is ruled by Ophelia (cat). Teresa is now caring for the chickens.
Dr. Freeman has a great deal of interest in the grief process and compassion fatigue, which can affect pet owners and health care providers, alike. She is open and available to give workshops to interested veterinary practices.
Teresa is a Certified Veterinary Technician who has been working in veterinary hospitals since 2002. Her first many years of tech work were done with exotics and pocket pets. Teresa lives at home with her daughter, 4 dogs, 3 cats, a turtle, a Quaker parrot, and 3 chickens. She has been working with Dr. Freeman since early 2008 and has enjoyed learning about the dynamic world of oncology. In particular, she loves coming to work to see patients that have gotten to know her and spend time spoiling them with treats!
Britt joined VCRC in September, 2011, from the oncology service at Pet Emergency and Specialty Center of Marin in the San Francisco Bay area. She is with VCRC as a veterinary technician assistant who has been working in veterinary hospitals since 2007. Britt's favorite part of working in veterinary medicine is being able to care for and bond with the patients and clients. Outside of work, Britt spends time with her collie, Sammy, and quarterhorse, Scooter. She is excited to join VCRC and help provide excellent care and support to our patients and their families.
Amber has been working at Dove Lewis since July, 2008 and started working with Dr. Freeman in November, 2011. She shares a sweet little apartment in North Portland with her three-legged cat, Gepetto and her orange kitty, Oliver. She enjoys spending time on the mountain as well as at the beach. Amber is excited for her new adventure with the VCRC team and getting to know all of the wonderful patients and their owners.
